Training Course on Cultivation of Medicinal Plants and Saffron- From September 11, 2009 |

The Zagros Project, in cooperation with the Technical and Vocational Training Organization of Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari Province, held training courses for cultivation of medicinal plants and Saffron for the women of Gelesefid village from September 11, 2009. |
| Considering natural resources and climatic surveys of the village, the issue was decided in consultation with the experts of the Agriculture organization of Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari. |

In this course, the trainees are educated on preparing, cultivating, maintaining and harvesting medicinal plants and saffron, and are also informed about their health benefits, drying and usage method as well as processing saffron. Meanwhile a piece of land and a nursery have been allocated to them to cultivate saffron and eight kinds of medicinal plants including mallow, fennel, borage, coriander, psyllium, thyme, safflower and pot marigold. |
| The course, which consists of both theoretical and practical parts, is attended by 36 women with the minimum degree of middle school and will last for 4 months. |
